A complaint relates to the way the department carries out its roles, or provides its services or products to the community, and is a complaint made about the department and/or its staff by external parties.

The department recognises and promotes the right of community members to be heard in relation to a complaint and has a complaint management process that is:

  • confidential
  • accessible
  • timely
  • open and accountable
  • free of charge

Please note: if your complaint concerns potential breaches of legislation administered by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions or information identifying poor conservation practices, you must forward your complaint directly to your local metropolitan or country office, or report your concerns to wildlife watch 1800 449 453.
