Small and large restoration projects will be delivered over three years by community volunteers.
The first round of grants will open on October 16, 2017, with $300,000 to be allocated annually from 2018-19 to 2020-21.

"The McGowan Labor Government is protecting the Swan and Canning rivers by investing in measures that will help address nutrient inflows, riverbank erosion and native fish and waterbird conservation.
"State and local governments, community groups, volunteers and the public all play a part to maintain the health of this very important part of our natural environment.
"The Community Rivercare Program supports volunteers to become involved in activities that will help our river system become more vibrant and well balanced.
"I encourage everyone with an interest in improving the health and amenity of our rivers to apply for grants under this program so we can continue to work together to protect the Swan and Canning rivers."
