Visit the Canning River EcoEducation Centre these school holidays to discover a world of winter wetland dwellers with the Department of Parks and Wildlife’s popular Nearer to Nature holiday activities.

The family activity Frog Forage for ages six and above will be held on Saturday 11 July and take participants on an evening hunt for some common frogs.

Program coordinator Jill Francis said participants would take a walk through some common frog habitats as well as identifying frog calls.

Another popular activity Deadly and Dangerous, suitable for ages seven to 12 will be held on Thursday 9 July, where children will get the chance to get up close with some dangerous species.

For younger children aged four to seven, Snugglegum and Cuddlenut is sure to delight.

The activity, which takes kids into the bush collecting special nuts, twigs and leaves to turn into craft, will take place on Tuesday 14 July.

“Every child involved in the session will make gumnut babies and a cute bag to take home,” Ms Francis said.

Bookings are essential. To secure a spot please contact Nearer to Nature on 9295 2244 between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
