In the early evening, the hills bushland comes alive with beautiful bird calls.

Join the Department of Parks and Wildlife’s Nearer to Nature on an ‘Evening Song’ bird walk in Beelu National Park on Sunday 23 November 2014 starting at 5.45pm.

Nearer to Nature programs coordinator Jill Francis said the guided walk was aimed at individuals and families with children 10 years and older.

“Bring your binoculars and our local bird expert will take you through a number of different habitats, point out bird nests and help you ‘tune in’ to various bird calls,” Ms Francis said.

“This will be an interesting and scenic walk near Mundaring Weir and through the Helena Valley.”

Meet at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre in Mundaring for a 5.45pm start.

A light supper will be provided and the evening is due to finish at 8pm.

Bookings are required and cost $20 per person. Contact Nearer to Nature on (08) 9295 2244 from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday to reserve a place.
