Collecting firewood in the Perth Hills

As firewood is limited supply closer to the metropolitan area, permission to collect firewood in the Perth Hills differs from other DBCA regions.

You need to have a permit ('Authority') to collect firewood in the Perth Hills. The ‘Authority’ is valid for one visit only.

  • The 'Authority' includes a range of conditions under which you can collect firewood. These conditions are there to reduce the environmental impact of collecting firewood.
  • With the 'Authority', you will receive a receipt and a map or maps of designated firewood collection areas.
  • The ‘Authority’ must be used within four weeks of the expiry date—or by the end of the season if that is less than four weeks away.
