An ideally located group campsite in the heart of Margaret River's Karri forest, only minutes from the town centre of Margaret River. Nestled among an old growth stand of karri and jarrah forest, it provides an ideal base for educational groups visiting the South-West Capes region.

Under new management

From late 2012, the Wharncliffe Mill site, where the Margaret River Eco Discovery Centre is located, has been leased to private operators under the State Government’s Naturebank program.
The new lessees, Claire and Adrian Prendergast, are experienced tourism operators who have previously managed Kooljaman at Cape Leveque - an Aboriginal-owned wilderness camp in the Kimberley - and have spent the last seven years consulting in Indigenous and Eco-Tourism.
An important focus for them will be remaining accessible for school groups and offering 'exclusive use' options for the parts of the year when we have traditionally been busiest with EcoEducation programs.
The new operators have expressed a strong commitment to partnering with Nearer to Nature to continue offering good value accommodation in conjunction with our curriculum linked forest education programs and their own range of activities. We look forward to a productive relationship in years to come.
