The Department of Parks and Wildlife is providing grants to assist the community to manage and restore banksia woodland, especially for projects enhancing the habitat of Carnaby's cockatoo.
Grant applications are now open for community groups to restore and manage Perth's banksia woodlands, and to monitor the success of their activities.
A total of $300,000 is available for projects undertaken between 1 June 2014 and 30 September 2016 (a 28-month period).
There is a minimum of $5,000 and a maximum of $20,000 per project.
Funding will be supplied in two installments, the second after receipt of an interim progress report.
